Established as Commercial Carolina of South Carolina in 2000 by Jim Sineath, who remains a stockholder, Coppedge & Tison’s name change as of January 2007 draws attention to the addition of Chief Executive Officer John B. Coppedge III, who most recently was Executive Vice President of International Operations for Cushman & Wakefield. “We are excited that John Coppedge has joined us as Chief Executive Officer after a distinguished career with Cushman & Wakefield,” says Coppedge & Tison President John Tison. “His addition reflects our firm’s stability and strength as well as the quality and continuity of service we provide locally, regionally and worldwide.”

Coppedge brings 30 years of commercial real estate expertise from Cushman & Wakefield. He was instrumental in Cushman & Wakefield’s worldwide expansion where he was a member of the company’s board of directors. During his career he lived in Atlanta, London, Hong Kong and New York, before moving to Charleston in 2000. Coppedge is a member of Cornet Global and a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute.

Tison, a Charleston native, returned to the area from Washington, DC in 1999. He served as senior vice president for Barnes Morris/Insignia-ESG in Washington and was a regional director of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Tison became president of the South Carolina offices of Commercial Carolina in 2004. In 2006 the company leased a total of 112,068 square feet of retail space, 509,283 square feet of industrial space and 172,614 square feet of office space.
