JANET GENT

Prior to entering the commercial real estate business, Ms. Gent spent ten years servicing national accounts in the commercial banking arena providing a sound base of financial and technical skills.  Her background in commercial real estate includes over twenty years in all aspects of commercial development, leasing and sales.  Ms. Gent began her commercial real estate career working for developers in the Tampa, FL and Greenville, SC markets.  She relocated to the Washington, DC metropolitan area in 1993 and spent twelve years working for major brokerage firms including Trammell Crow Company, where she was a Top 10 Producer in its Corporate Advisory Group and CB Richard Ellis specializing in tenant representation.  In 2005, Ms. Gent returned to Greenville, SC and affiliated with Grubb & Ellis/The Furman Co. prior to joining Coppedge & Tison/Cushman & Wakefield in 2007.

As a tenant representative, Ms. Gent has advised and represented a variety of corporate clients, associations and non-profit entities with a wide range of size requirements concentrating on office, flex/warehouse and industrial space in both the Northern Virginia and Upstate South Carolina marketplaces.  Her expertise provides clients with value added services by leading them through the process of site analysis, selection and final negotiations of lease/purchase transactions on both a local and national basis.  She has an extensive knowledge of market conditions, building systems and the space planning process, which nets her clients significant savings in time and money.  The value to the client is realized through the receipt of appropriate advice, uncompromising execution and protection of client interests.

Ms. Gent attended James Madison University and East Tennessee State University, graduating with a B.S. in Political Science and History.  Before moving to Greenville, SC from McLean, VA, Ms. Gent served on the Northern Virginia Technology Council, Board of Directors for Women in Technology, Ambassador to Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, and Fundraising Committee of The International Children’s Festival, Wolf Trap Park, in Vienna, VA.  Ms. Gent currently serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenville and as a volunteer tutor with The Greenville Literacy Association.
